One cold day, five guys (unrelated to the burger restaurant, unfortunately) randomly decided, "Hey, we all like games, right? Why don't we just talk about them and all that? We're cool and attractive people with interesting things to say...right?"
On that day in February of 2022, the idea for a retro video game podcast was born. The name that was picked for the podcast: Old Games in the Basement (And Other Ramblings From Madmen). We started right away to create a show that was laid-back, generally disorganized, but also fun to listen to.
Old Games in the Basement was initially conceived as an average video game talk show. However, their love of absurdist humor, sketch comedy, and non-sequiturs, in general, caused them to quickly change course and drive the production into a more comedy-based talk show filled to the brim with crude and dark humor. Characters like Uncle Hank and Auntie Jizz (more, for better or worse) naturally came about for this reason.
Old Games in the Basement started life as a relatively simple podcast, but its creators' ambitions could not be contained. After not being satisfied with only having a podcast, they decided to expand into the realm of video creation and brand themselves as a nerd-centric comedy troupe. The name for the group: Madmen in the Basement!
Some of their fun (and slightly crazy) content includes skit videos, reviews, and streams. Keep an eye out for future developments and other exciting news going forward!
